Japan is a wonderful country. It has wonderful and interesting dishes that we eat with pleasure and also turn us on like mature girls. (sushi is a good example of this, but not the only one).
Ingredients for mochi (for 6-10 units)
250 g glutinous rice
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup of water
Rice starch (sprinkle while kneading)
Preparation of mochi dough
In a bowl or bowl, mix glutinous rice flour with sugar and water. For this, it is important to stir vigorously, but add water slowly. Mix well until there are no lumps and the dough is elastic and quite sticky.
Soak a cooking pot and use it to line the bamboo steamer bowl. To do this, pour the batter into a bowl, cover and set aside. Add water to a pot or container of the same diameter and add a bamboo bowl.
Let the rice cook for 20 to 25 minutes until the batter has a fairly sticky texture. Remove from heat and let cool (until the dough is quite warm).
Knead by hand. For this purpose, apply rice starch to the kitchen plate.
Place the mochi paste on a counter with rice starch, stretch the dough and cut it into small portions.
Now flatten each ball with each palm and carefully stretch them to form a disk.
You can reshape the balls if you like (if you're not going to fill them), or leave them as they are and cut them into squares.
