INGREDIENTS (6-8 pieces)
- 100g glutinous rice flour
- 25g sugar
- 150ml water
- Cornstarch or potato starch (for dusting)
- 6-8 squares of chocolate or teasoons of Nutella
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a bowl mix glutinous rice flour, sugar and water until smooth
- Cook the mixture: MICROWAVE: Heat for 1 minute, stir, then heat another 1 minute until thick and translucent. STEAMING: Steam for 10-12 minutes
- Dust a clean surface generously with cornstarch
- Transfer the hot mochi dough onto the surface and let it cool slightly
- Divide the dough into equal pieces
- Flatten each piece, place chocolate or Nutella in the center, and seal well
- Roll gently into balls
- Serve warm for a gooey lava center
TIPS:
- Don't overfill or the chocolate may leak
- Best enjoyed fresh and slightly warm
- Reheat gently in the microwave (10-15 seconds)
